Surrey Canal Way, Lewisham (Lewisham Local Plan)

Our client controlled a dated industrial estate in Lewisham within a Strategic Industrial Location. The emerging Local Plan would clearly be a key influence on the client’s aspirations for the site, in particular the Local Plan’s objective to provide new affordable workspace and protect existing low cost workspace. We made the case that this would stifle development and undermine the plan’s key objective to support the economy. We presented our case at the Local Plan Hearing sessions and were invited by the Inspectors to engage directly with the Council to craft appropriate policy wording.
