Permission secured for demolition of the existing building and construction of a replacement Bolton’s villa with three storey basement. This was in an extremely sensitive location within a high profile conservation area, adjacent to a listed building and overlooked by neighbouring properties with articulate and well resourced residents who strongly resisted the scheme.

Getting engagement from the local council proved very challenging but we persevered, guiding the client and the architect through the planning process. The scheme went through numerous iterations, including two appeal Hearings, and eventually gained an officer recommendation for approval and was approved by the planning committee.
