King’s Road, Reading

The site was a former Victorian swimming pool. The entrance building, facing the road, was retained and converted whilst the rear of the building was demolished and replaced with two new blocks of flats.

We helped the architect analyse the character of the wider area and ensure that the scheme integrated with its surroundings whilst still maximising the site’s potential. Getting the detail of a scheme right is not only important to achieving planning permission but, most importantly, to delivering a scheme that works for the end user. We worked closely with we the client’s property management team to resolve matters including bins, bikes, car park layout, landscaping and boundary treatments and ensure that the scheme worked for the eventual occupiers.
